Build a Model Space Colony on Mars

9-Week Club Programme
Goal : Create a 3D model of a self-sustaining Mars colony using science, teamwork, and creativity.
Week Focus & Activity:
1. Mission Briefing – Learn about Mars and what a colony needs: air, water, shelter, food.
2. Layout Design – Plan the Mars base and assign teams (habitats, energy, transport, research, agriculture).
3. Terrain Base – Build the Martian surface using cardboard, sand, plaster, or paint.
4. Habitats– Make domes from plastic bowls or clear cups; learn about air pressure and protection.
5. Power Systems – Add solar panels or wind turbines (foil, cardboard, mini LEDs).
6. Rovers & Robots – Create small vehicles from LEGO, cardboard, or kits.
7. Agriculture – Build greenhouses and model crops; discuss water recycling.
8. Finishing Touches – Paint, label, add astronauts, flags, and names.
9. Mars Expo – Present the colony; explain how each system supports survival.
